The main thing Dave Asprey focuses on is making your mitochondria more efficient at making energy. Mitochondria makes ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is known as the energy currency of life.

Chronic stress is harmful and can lead to things like poor fat metabolism and increased demand for sugar.

Cholesterol is essential for cognitive function and maintaining your myelin.

The brain is made mostly of fat (brain cells and myelin). When it comes to the brain healthy fats are the most important macronutrient.

Eating eggs poached or soft boiled is helpful for not damaging the cholesterol or phospholipids in the yolk. I follow this tip and have noticed more energy.

Ketones are more efficient than glucose as a source of fuel because ketones are directly broken down to acetyl CoA in the mitochondria, while glucose takes an extra step to be broken down into acetyl CoA.

Some supplements Dave Asprey recommended for brain nutrition were vitamin D3, magnesium, various B vitamins, fish oils, and creatine.

Positives

The book had tons of great information and explained concepts well. It also had bonus information such as sleep hacks (sleep induction mats) or cryotherapy (cold therapy).
